In this episode, I do a deep dive talking about a requested topic: dementia. It can be hard to find good information and advice about dementia online, so I hope that this episode can serve that function.
Thanks for having some fun with me for the Halloween episode last week. This one will be a regular Q&A episode. I wanted to give a quick shout out to my buddy Speeks Geak for hooking me up with the new intro and outro beat. Check him out over on Twitter. For this episode, we have questions about bipolar depression, how to break up with a therapist, and what to do when your loved one forgets family members.
In this episode, I do something a bit different. Earlier today (9/27/16) I gave a professional talk to a group of people about dementia. The point of my talk was to give them a thorough understanding of dementia in general and to describe some of the specific types that you might encounter. This episode is a little more straight forward and informational than my other shows, but if you are interested in sitting through a 1-hour crash course with me, I encourage you to have a listen!
I wanted to let you all know some very exciting news. I am working on a new book! This book is going to be all about dementia and problems of aging. It will have a similar tone to my other books, but a little less colorful language and comedy. The intention is to make a straightforward guide in plain language all about dementia for people who may have a loved one that they are concerned about. Dementia can be confusing and it is sometimes difficult to know whether certain behaviors are normal for age and we want to clarify that. For this project, I am not working alone – I have teamed up with my colleague Dr. Erik Lande, who is an experienced neuropsychologist and dementia specialist.
As of now, we are still in the writing phase and do not have a release date, but if you would like to be among the first to receive updates about this book as it progresses, please sign up for the email list below. You will not be spammed and this list is made specifically for updates about this book. I also welcome your thoughts and recommendations regarding content and questions that you might have!
