Hello, friends! In this Q&A episode, I take three awesome questions that listeners sent in and try my best to give some helpful advice. These cover a range of topics including health anxiety, PTSD in literature, and coping with a sexless marriage.
This is a fantastic interview with Dr. Laura Copley, a trauma specialist, who focuses on post-traumatic growth and resilience. We go through many important facts and misconceptions about trauma. We talk about the difference between resilience and post-traumatic growth. We even dive into a couple exercises that people currently contending with trauma reactions can use to start living life on their terms.
This week, I have a nice Q&A session for you. Three really great questions that cover a variety of topics. Some of the content in here is sexually related and there is also plenty of talk about trauma. Be advised.
In this episode, I’m trying something slightly different. Rather than taking three questions, I’m taking one and using it as a jumping off point to go in-dept into topics related to the question. Sort of combining the deep-dive and Q&A formats. I’m going to try this for a few weeks and then ask for your opinions. Today’s episode is all about C-PTSD or complex post-traumatic stress disorder.
This episode fought back! My computer crashed when I recorded it the first time and I lost everything. Oh well. No biggie. Re-recorded it for you here and I don’t mind at all because the questions were so great! Here’s what we cover:
-Why don’t my friends notice when I don’t show up?
-How can I help my patients who seem traumatized from their medical treatment?
-Is it worth it to keep trying when I’m so depressed?
